Starting Mail Attachment Downloader [MAD] using a shared profile folder

Occasionally it will be best to start MailAttachmentDownloader.exe from a shared profile folder, reasons might be:

  • Use of a single licence by multiple users on a PC
  • Access to a shared configuration, typically on a server You can run **`MailAttachmentDownloader.exe --help **to list launch options.

Suggested configuration:

  • Create a batch file to launch MailAttachmentDownloader.exe with the options -c (or --config-dir) and -l (or --local-pwd). -c takes in a config directory that both admins have access to. \${NL}MailAttachmentDownloader.exe --config-dir "C:\MAD\SharedConfig" --local-pwd \${NL}
  • Make sure the batch file is always `Run as administrator with admin rights

Alternatively a desktop shortcut could be created of the form:

\${NL}start "MAD Custom Launch" "C:\Program Files\GearMage\Mail Attachment Downloader Pro v3.2\MailAttachmentDownloader.exe" --config-dir "C:\MAD\SharedConfig" --local-pwd \${NL}
